Warning: Spoilers
MASTER SAMURAI is a cheap and nondescript action thriller of the mid-1970s, one that offers a starring role for second-string star Chris Mitchum. He plays the usual rugged hero type who's called into action once more after a jail breakout means that the usual criminal gang is up to no good with kidnapping and murder all around. This one was shot in the Philippines, so anyone familiar with that country's filmmaking will know what to expect from the production quality and generally inept feel. Mitchum is as wooden as they come, the local actors are horrendously dubbed, and the whole thing is generally mindless and without merit. They do throw in a few kung fu-inspired fight scenes which add some unintentional comedy value.
