The two misfits got executed on the same day - 18 May 1876. But on two different locations. And with about 3000 spectators for Hjert at Lidamon and some 100 for Tector at Stenkumla backe.
Shooting the execution scene of Tector occurred at the very same location as the actual beheading. On the very same day 100 years after the execution.
The actor Janne Carlsson had the chance to watch the execution scene. The arrangement to behead "him" was done with half a pig, with the forward legs spread out to get the shape of a human. In the shoulder area of the pig, props department injected pigs blood and they mounted a squib to illustrate the actual beheading. At the real execution the executioner failed to cut the head off twice before he succeeded on his third attempt. Earlier it was said that if an executioner failed at the first attempt, the convict got pardoned and the executioner should be sentenced to death.
