The Alcatraz footage was shot at the same time as Don Siegel was shooting Escape From Alcatraz with Clint Eastwood on the other side of the island.
According to adult film historian Elizabeth Purchell, director Arthur J. Bressan Jr. wanted to premiere his film at San Francisco gay threater The Castro but the owners declined due to its hardcore pornographic scenes. It instead screened at the Nob Hill Theatre.
