Suspenseful
sdfsdfsdf8 October 2001
Watched it as a kid, those trapdoor scenes were very eerie. The series had its boring moments (like watching previous happenings at the start of each part), but on average quite watchable. The same crew/cast made other similar series as well, but I cannot recommend those.

watched this show at 11 year old

I watched this show at 1985 in China. It was one of my favorite TV shows watched as a young girl. The ending of the show with the trapdoor was very impressive. I often dreamed of the protagonist until many years after. My first crush on a TV star. Young impressive age it was to me, it was a true thriller to remember.

thrilling WW2 drama with a convincing cast
andre-7120 November 2000
In my opinion, this is one of the few acceptable East German shows with political content. The story is persuasive and even the Nazis do not only serve clichés, but appear as convincing characters.

I liked very much the amount of detail to be seen in outdoor sets. But the best part remains the story that produces a high level of tension which is only gradually solved. The flashbacks helped to develop the mystery of the "Death's Archive".

It seems that the director put most of the censor-pleasing "communistic messages" in the last ten minutes of the film. So, if you skip this part, or see it with different eyes, you can really enjoy the series.
