Nice and entertaining farce upon a sympathetic sweeper with good intentions who get in trouble.
ma-cortes3 October 2022
Good-natured and warmhearted Cantinflas comedy , here playing an atypical and likable sweeper. Cantinflas is a good-feeling sweeper sometimes resorting to wordly solutions to problems . Along the way , our cleaner makes good acts , helping people , fine assistance , clashes repeatedly with another sweeper and falls in love for a maid . Meantime , the sweeper takes on two nasty robbers who took a Murillo painting , being the sole witness of a robbing committed by the art thieves, and he eventually reunites his co-workers who are doing a strike , even if he opposes the strike of his fellow strikers. Furthermore, he finds in his garbage container an abandoned baby as well as the Murillo painting. Here Cantinflas is simply the coolest cleaner ever !

A gentle, satisfying and agreeable comedy with a lot of humorous, enjoyable sketches about an unconventional street sweeper who delivers goodness , help and happiness . Cantinflas here appears as an intimate human persona with his virtues and shortcomings . It is the hilarious all new adventure of that imprudent , impish , impossible droll role magnificently played by the splendid Cantinflas as a humble but botcher street sweeper, but above all an endearing human being . Highlights of the movie are Cantinflas' songs when he sings to his girlfriend the famous : ¨Con dinero o sin dinero .. pero sigo siendo el rey¨ and Cantinflas himself doing a funny strip-tease . Most laughs are supposed to come from watching the offbeat sweeper do such outrageous things as dancing , singing , drinking at a upper-class party , brawling and organizing peculiar tricks to get his attractive purports . This is a successful , though overlong satire, and in my opinion it is one an acceptable Mario Moreno Cantinflas movie , though the repetitive formula in the Eighties results to be exhausted . This is a simple fun and exhilarating film about an unusual sweeper versus villain crooks and mean owners along with other adventures and misfortunes shown in a mass collection of vignetttes . Cantinflas' career was very long from the Forties to Eighties . Throughout his fruitful career Cantinflas performed good-tempered and kind people , mostly low-class characters . Cantinflas was once described as "the world's greatest comedian" by none other than Charles Chaplin. Cantinflas was one of the biggest stars ever in Spanish language films, he never forgot where he came from. Much of his money was given over to charitable work, including high-quality, low-income housing for Mexico City's poor . He is responsible for more than one word that is in the modern Spanish language dictionary, including the verb "Cantinflear", which roughly means to talk a lot but say nothing of substance. Equally , he played motley roles with all kinds of jobs, as he was street cleaner , a teacher , a doctor, an actor , an extra , a scientist , a clown, a fireman , a porter , an elevador operador, a photographer , a prospector , cowboy , a student , Hotel manager , an Ambassador , Bellboy , a police officer , magician , a priest , among others . These roles to be interpreted in films as El Profe , Bombero Atómico, El Supersabio, El Analfabeto, El Extra , Sube Y Baja , El Conserje , El Mago, Por Mis Pistolas , El Circo, Su excelencia, El Señor Doctor , El Señor Fotógrafo , El Patrullero, Por Mis Pistolas , and his last one : El Barrendero.

The motion picture was professionally directed by Miguel Maria Delgado in his usual style , and he was Cantinflas' ordinary filmmaker . Rating : 6/10. Above average Cantinflas movie . A childhood favorite , appointed to tremendous fans of the great Cantinflas. Essential and indispensable seeing for Cantinflas fans due to be his last film .
