Actual two weeks location filming was done in Paris, France. However, the majority of the picture was shot in Melbourne, Australia with Melbourne doubling for some Parisian settings.
Reportedly, actress Barbara Parkins agreed to do this picture because, as she once said, she wanted to desperately do "...a romantic, up-to-date love story in the George Segal - Glenda Jackson tradition" [of A Touch of Class (1973)].
Before coming to Australia to work on this film, actress Barbara Parkins attended an American screening of Breaker Morant (1980) to see the performance of Rod Mullinar (playing Major Bolton), her co-star in this film.
Reportedly, there were media reports of an off-screen romance of this film's lead stars Rod Mullinar and Barbara Parkins.
