Before Davey is even at the airport, the bomb in Kim's radio has less than 11 minutes before detonation. The amount of time that it takes Davey to get to the airport, identify the elder spies, not to mention the subsequent hijacking and negotiation where Davey, his father, and the spies wind up on a plane together, is far more than eleven minutes.
When Davey (Henry Thomas) first boards the boat on the river walk, the two bad guys are told the boat is at capacity and there is no more room - they'll have to wait. When two seats suddenly open, they board the obviously filled boat. Later, they all three find plenty of empty seats when Davey begins avoiding them.
When Rice shoots Morris, Rice can be seen in the reflection of the monitor firing the gun but the monitor remains intact. However, in a subsequent scene Davey and Kim discover that Morris is missing and the monitor now has a bullet hole in its center.
When Davey calls Kelly Field Air Force Base from the phone booth, he asks for "Master Sgt Hal Osbourne", but near the end of the film, Hal identifies himself as a Staff Sgt. Given his age, the former is more likely, which would be an E7 pay grade.
Direction that the Cloak & Dagger game faces when, Jack Flack tosses it to Davey, changes.
Among the Atari 5200 games shown as being available in store shelves are Cloak & Dagger and Tempest. However, neither one of these games was ever released for the Atari 5200.
Hal mentions to Lt. Fleming that he manages ground crews and is licensed to taxi airplanes. In actuality, there is no license to taxi airplanes; a license is only required to fly. Anybody is allowed to taxi an aircraft on the ground. Flight mechanics taxi airplanes frequently for maintenance purposes.
The secret plans shown on the cartridge are at a very high resolution and include many "camera movements" such as zooms, pull-outs and pans. All of these were impossible to do on an Atari 5200.
The secret plans on the cartridge are for an "invisible bomber." However, the schematic is clearly that of the SR-71 Blackbird, an unarmed spy plane.
The Atari 5200 game cartridge is referred to a number of times by several different people as a "tape". While there is actually no tape inside an Atari 5200 cartridge, game players of that era often referred to such cartridges as "tapes". It was a common misnomer as cassette tapes were a prevalent medium at the time.
When Jack Flack tells Davey to switch the games,he throws him a factory sealed game-box.Yet at the exchange scene when the bad guys picks it up and looks at it,the game has a sticker on the back, that says The Gamekeeper which is the name of the store Davy got it from.
Considering it was factory sealed that sticker shouldn't have been there.
When Halverman tries to run over Davey in the phone booth he ends up crashing into a store window. While being thrown through the windshield the suppressed pistol bends and flexes revealing it's a rubber prop, and you can see pads protecting his forearms under his sweatshirt.
When we first see Davy talking with Jack Flack in the staircase, Davy is looking at his reflection out through the window in the mirrored building next door. However, when Jack sits down next to Davy you can see a brief glimpse of his reflection in the mirror building, even though he is imaginary.
When Davey is Driving Rice's Car in the parking Garage as he is exiting the parking garage you can clearly see that an adult is driving the car, not Davey.
When Davey arrives at the airport, the Departures schedule lists Puerto Rico as one of the flight destinations. Such a schedule would list the name of the city and/or airport the flight is destined for. Puerto Rico is a territory with several different commercial airports.
When Morris unlocks the plans on the video game, the word retrieval is misspelled.
Davey tells the old couple that the tape carries plans. There is no way for him to know this.
After Davey leaves Alamo and gets to car. Camera and lighting can be seen.
The film is set in San Antonio, Texas, in summer, when the average high temperature is in the mid-90s and the average low is in the mid-70s. Yet for some reason, Davy and Kim are seen wearing jackets on their way to the airport.
Hal Osbourne is a Master Sergeant in the USAF yet refers to himself as a Staff Sergeant when he is convincing security to let him fake being a pilot at the end of the movie. The insignia on his uniform indicates that he is a Master Sergeant (E7) denoted by having 6 stripes, 3 of which are beneath the star.
During the opening credits, the patrolling Russian guard looks directly at the camera before turning around and walking away, after his conversation with the other guard ends.
