After the opening credits, you see "1935" on the screen. A car in the near lane of the street drives behind it. Then, another car (in the far lane) runs into the number sitting on the road, and smashes it to pieces.
Ray Walston's name appears twice in the closing credits. The first is with a picture of his character and later in just typeface (along with Ron Carey) under the title "Special Appearances."
"Polly" (the parrot, in the in-joke of Polly being the name of all pet parrots, Polly the character name also of said parrot).
