Review from Movie Guide 2020.....
SumanShakya22 April 2020
"A beautifully filmed but an inept revenge saga which moderately grips after its interval apart a nice performance of Dimple Kapadia it offers;" as quoted in "Reviewing Hindi Cinema since 1945: Movie Guide 2020."

Revenge drama

Dimple and Raj are very good at their jobs and share great chemistry Rajiv is good eye candy and shines in his small role . Dimple is the cute daughter of veteran Madan Puri who works in a small role in Raj Babbar's office . She's already in love with Rajiv . Raj sees and fancies Dimple at the first glance . Madan Puri , unaware of his daughter's affections agrees to give her in marriage to him happily . Dimple refuses to marry him and reveals her love to her father and also Raj . In a few days , Rajiv mysteriously dies in a water accident . Dimple sees Raj's hand in this but is unable to prove his guilt . Raj comes back as her sympathiser and egged on by her father, she agrees to marry him. She becomes his dutiful wife and also keeps reminding him of his misdeeds . Confused, arrogant Raj tries his best to deceive and control her. Rajiv is not dead and returns back after a few months much to the joy of his mother Asha Parekh . In the mean time , a lot of twists and turns take place with Dimple still believing Rajiv is dead and finally during some confrontation , Raj is killed in a freak accident . Finally Rajiv and Dimple are united after much confusions and misunderstandings. Over all a fine movie . Dimple is beauty personified. She was on top in her 30s and shows her great figure in every frame be it sari or skirts or swimming costumes. Raj is super as the main villain . Madan Puri evokes a lot of sympathy as a small time worker in his office. Rajiv is chirpy and likeable . Wonder why he could not continue much further .Nice locales, songs, costumes ...

Hell Hath No Fury Like A Woman Scorned!

Warning: Spoilers
I really enjoyed this movie!! Dimple Kapadia plays the eternal spider woman with a vengeful agenda quite beautifully here. She loses the love of her life, Rajiv Kapoor, to the aristocratic and narcissistic Raj Babbar who cannot stand to see anyone keep him from getting what he wants, but eventually realizes that a human being, and a woman in particular, is not just another commodity that you can win over, by hook or by crook. All actors do justice to their respective roles, Dimple impresses with her subtle, understated burning style of acting, while Raj Babbar could easily come across as an evil Count type character, drunk high on his own power and wealth, meeting an untimely demise at the end due to some cunning planning by Dimple. Rajiv Kapoor does justice to his role as a beat down, middle class lover boy who comes back to life to search for the love of his life and get some redemption at the end. An enjoyable watch for spending some quality time with vintage 80s Bollywood.
