The film was made and released about three years after its source stage play "Not Quite Jerusalem" by Paul Kember had been first performed in 1982. Kember also penned the screenplay for the movie.
The picture's "Sits With The Stars" World Charity Premiere was held at 8 pm on Thursday 28th March 1985 at the Odeon, Leicester Square in London, England. Proceeds from The Gala Charity Premiere Benefit went to aid the Stars Organisation for Spastics and the Variety Club of Great Britain.
The number of English and American volunteer tourists in the film who were the main central characters visiting Israel on a working holiday was six.
