This was a great show - as everyone says Jill Whitlow was stunning (as was Elke Sommer too in her mid-40's), and the Elvis soundtrack was excellent. The show was never meant to be serious or particularly think on plot, it was just a series of 'ham it up' scenarios and lots of 'taking the mickey' out of anyone and everyone (the Aussie Tanker Driver, the Crazy Cricket-Playing Motorcycle Cop, the Incompetent 'Boss Hog' style bad guy, the Fiddle or Violin playing Muscle Man, etc)! When it screened in NZ in the late-80's I was lucky enough to manage to record 3 or 4 of the episodes to VHS and have lived on that since! (I missed the first 1 or 2 episodes I think as I don’t have the UK/French episode(s) but have the ones set in the US (Old West), Australian (Outback), India, etc.

I could never find out for sure if it was 4, 5, or 6 episodes (can't remember what screened back then), and have since found websites listing both 5 and 6 episodes. However someone said the pilot was completely different with different cast and may not have screened anywhere - so does that mean it's 6, 1 being the pilot, and 5 being the one's with Jill & Skyler that screened; or 5 episodes, with 1 the pilot, and 4 the Jill & Skyler episodes that actually screened? Also interested in Marcus Thomson's comments (one of the writers) on (I think) You Tube where he said the show was never meant to be like it was - would love to know what it was meant to be like? Regardless I think it's a great bit of mindless fun with excellent music when you want to forget about the world and stress and just have a laugh! Also Steve-2030's comments below aren’t right - this is the same show, as usual it screened in the UK, AU, and NZ under a different name than the USA, we know it as "Neat & Tidy: Adventures Beyond Belief", while the US just know it as "Adventures Beyond Belief".

You can get it second hand on VHS on EBay, but I'd really love to get a full set on DVD or Blu-ray, including the mysterious 'Pilot' episode...

This was shown in the UK as a five part TV series. I found it really entertaining. I watched mainly for the Elvis sound track which should be reason enough to watch it. one particular scene that had me falling about the place laughing was when the lead character Nick Neat was imprisoned down a mine. the baddies tried to bump him off in a lingering death worthy of a James Bond villain. They dumped a truck load of beer into the mine to drown him. in true Brit style he wasn't going to give in so he drank all the beer and climbed out. he then drunkenly headed for his Harley and missed and mounted a donkey instead. then grasping by the ears like a set of handlebars he tried to kick start it, priceless. i have tried to locate the series on VHS or DVD to no avail. PS the was a pilot made with different actors, haven't seen it but i don't think it would be the same. UPDATE Many thanks to the director of this film Marcus Thomson. I managed to get in touch with him and he supplied me with a VHS copy, I got some beer in stuck it on and laughed my tits off all over again. Clearly it's not as ball bouncingly funny as it was first time around; but hey Elvis is timeless. Thanks Marcus. I just tried to watch it again after nearly eight years and my VHS machine ate the tape I was given by the writer and director, bugger.

I've not seen the film and am confused. I was looking for 'Neat and Tidy' the TV series that aired in the UK and C4 in the late 1980's after 'The Chart Show' on a Friday night.

The characters were called Nick Neat and Tina Tidy and the title music was Guitar man by Elvis. The programme was totally mad and it was about the two characters who were totally unsuited to each other fleeing their respective pursuers Nicks were Hells Angels and Tina were Dominatrix like Convent Nuns!!!

The actors in the film listed as "Adventures Beyond Belief" are not the ones in the TV show.
