ekti jibon is based on a short Bengali story by Budhdhadeb Basu. The pictorial representation of that nice story is equally good. If you start it,you just forgot every thing and will be spellbound after you complete it.
The story is about a poor school teacher(Soumitra Chatterjee) and his family. He wants to write a complete Bengali dictionary but the job is seems to be impossible since he does not have money and references for this work. The project is becoming his passion and he is totally involved to collect words,article references and the way to publish it. He just spent his full life to complete his dream project. The movie is superbly directed by Raja Mitra. This is one of my best movie ever seen in Bengali.
