Mom Never Looked So Good!
BettieTeese12 March 2005
In Rock 'n' Roll Mom,the gorgeous Dyan Cannon is Annie Hackett,a single mom with a daughter and a son who aspires to be a singer, while she works full time in a local cafe. When a close friend reveals to a respectable record label that Annie is ultra-talented and has what it takes to go to the top,Annie becomes an overnight sensation, with a hit song that I assure you, will be in your head for weeks after watching.Annie's amazing transformation from a small town single Mom to a sexy songstress takes your breath away and she quickly becomes the mother her kids are no longer embarrassed by.Annie goes on a remarkable journey discovering the ups and downs of fame that this great family movie brilliantly exposes.Annie pays a price for her overnight success, and like all good things,it all comes crashing down for her, when the public discover the truth about 'Mystique'.A very enjoyable film!

I loved this movie

IF you haven't seen this movie you should although it might be bad now since it was done in the '80's but it was good then. When I was little I taped this and my sister and I used to watch it all the time. I don't really remember what it's about just that there's this mom who decides to become a singer and turns out to be good so she takes her kids with her everywhere and of course there are problems along the way.

But it's really a fun movie and I think it should be on again so we can reminisce. Or at least be able to buy it.

LOVE IT

When you think about 80s movies, you want fabulous hair, fabulous outfits, and a soundtrack that will get you going ... well this movie delivered all around. This was one of the greatest TV movies I feel ever made from 1980 till now still enjoyable watching it over and over again. The only thing I would have wanted even more would've been a soundtrack for this movie. I cherish this movie in my collection A+++

A nice movie, that has you cheering for her success

Dyan Cannon plays Annie Hackett, a single Mom who sings and dances to rock music as she cleans the kitchen, adding to the embarrassment of her two children who think she is just trying to act young. She is in an oldies trio "The Sweet Peas" where her friends "trap" her into singing one of her own rock songs one night. A tape of her singing makes it to a record label where Jeff Robins (Michael Brandon) likes what he hears and wants to use her songs for the labels main singer Darcy X. Darcy has a prima dona hissy fit and leaves Jeff with a recording session and no singer. Jeff drags Annie in to fill in for a rough cut so they won't waste the time. Everyone is entranced with her voice and presence, so Jeff puts it into a teaser test, to the rave reviews of the audiences. Unfortunately, Jeff's boss believes no one is going to buy records of a woman old enough to be their mother. So, against the will of his boss, Jeff builds a fake persona for Annie as "Mystere" and promotes a single release. Success seems assured, except Annie is uncomfortable with the lie, and having to hide her children from the public, but she trusts Jeff. Darcy's manager sets up a trap to reveal Annie and bursts the fantasy open. In disgrace Annie runs home to try to "pull the shreds of her life back together". Jeff follows her with an idea to try to show everyone how talented she really is. She agrees, but only on her terms --- her music done with her kids and friends. The movie is a lot of fun, regardless of the improbable circumstances, and you are cheering for her success throughout. Its unfortunate the movie hasn't played in a long time, and isn't available, it is very enjoyable.

Warning: Spoilers
I have seen Rock 'N Roll Mom when I was a kid and I love the movie it stared Dian Cannon. I have been searching for this movie sense I have been thirteen years of age and I am now thirty. I would love if you could tell me how I can get a copy of this movie. This movie has been one of the best I've ever seen. Please get me a copy.I do not know if you realize that people search for movies all the time and come up short. I have been through a lot of different video stores and they did not have the movie. I have looked online and I still kept on coming up short. Then one of the clerks told me about this site and I found the movie but I want a copy of the movie.

One of my favorite movies
kim-1707914 March 2023
I love the music, the story and the fact that it reveals how women in their 40's can be just as hot, as those in their 20's.

Life without goals, dreams, purpose...is meaningless. If you have a dream, go for it, regardless of your age, sex, religion, color...life is meant to be lived!

Side note, Dyan Cannon is one beautiful woman, and with legs to die for.

This movie is uplifting, fun, inspirational and a great movie, for all ages.

I wish there were more movies like this one.

I also wish that Dyan Cannon were in them, because she's one hot, talented and talented woman.

If only there were more sequels to this movie.
