Princess Aouda is missing one of the five medallions on her necklace when she is mending her peach sari on board the ship to Liverpool and again when she is wearing the peach ensemble during her marriage proposal by Fogg. There is a gap along the pearls in her necklace where the medallion was.
When Fogg and Lenoir start the balloon, it starts to rise rapidly and its yellow cabin is shown at least three meters above the ground in the shot with the whole balloon. Yet in the next shot the cabin is much lower as Passepartout boards the cabin by just pulling himself up by his arms.
On a map shown in the opening credits, the capital of China is identified as "Beijing". This spelling is in the Pin-Yin system of representing Chinese with Roman letters, which was not adopted until 1979. The Wade-Giles Romanization spelling of "Peking" would still have been in use. Wade-Giles was developed in 1859.
In episode 1, as the main characters are approaching Firenze aboard the Purple Cloud, and in a general view of the city from the air, a modern van can be seen next to a church.
