Jackee's charm makes this worth the double trouble.

Warning: Spoilers
Having been a fan of Jackee Harry's since her days as Lily on the soap opera "Another World" (and following her to "227"), I've always enjoyed seeing her pop up in a feature length film, whether it be or television or the big screen. Having also seen her on stage, I enjoy her consistent earthy but sometimes larger than life persona, even when the situations aren't quite believable which is the case here. She plays a dual role, a sophisticated secret federal agent who is injured in a bizarre accident, and must be replaced by her twin sister, an earthy waitress who looks after her customers as if she was their medical social worker.

When Harry is brought to the hospital to see her sister, it is a touching reunion, and sets up the very brief training she must have to take her sister's place. The problem is, no matter how sophisticated she looks in the twins clothes, she still acts like the earthy waitress, and nobody seems to notice. In a sense, she is doing a small screen version of the type of films that Bette Midler was doing at the time, and if anybody can be a Bette like character and not have it seem like a parody or ridiculous imitation, it is Jackee. As phony as the story seemed to me, I was fascinated by watching her in action, and rooted for her to succeed even though the situation just could never happen in any type of government service. So dismiss all senses of reality when watching this, and just enjoy it for the glamor and the humor and the charm of a wonderful actress who can play many dimensions and grab your heart.
