[postscript in German] "A false call in the night, once answered, can never be undone" Franz Kafka - A Country Doctor.
The paintings on the walls of the Serpentine Gallery where Keller meets Sarah are all by Paula Rego. The one that shows a girl polishing a boot is "The Policeman's Daughter" (1987); the one that the couple stand in front of is called "The Little Murderess" (1987); and the one that the camera lingers on after the couple exit the Gallery is called "Departure" (1988).
The framed print that is seen in close-up after the inter-title "The first Friday" is a copy of Melencolia I (1514) by the German Renaissance artist Albrecht Dürer. It is seen again in a later scene.
After Keller leaves the art gallery to be bought a drink, we see a photograph of two women joined together by wearing one jumper. The jumper is part of a series called "Knitworks" by the artist Rosemarie Trockel. This one is called "Continental Divide".
