Justin and Cooper are two arrogant, lazy well-to-do students who only think about partying, sex and having a good time. They are caught cheating on a test in their class by Professor Rusk, who threatens to fail or have them expelled. With their futures about to be in ruins they decide to murder Professor Rusk, and make it look like a scorned rival did it, since he was a serial philander and had a lot of enemies. Justin and Cooper underestimate Colombo, who figures out that they are the murderers for two reasons: First, they keep showing up at places where he is investigating, and second they begin injecting false clues in order to leave him down the wrong road. Colombo is not fooled or swayed by the evidence and doggingly pursues the Cooper and Justin, who believe that they have committed to the perfect murder.
