The Boeing 747 (operated by Viação Aérea RIo-Grandense Airlines (VARIG) of Brasil) seen taking off has a VNH registry on the nose - this was the first 747-300 (registry PP-VNH) delivered on December 10, 1985. Varig Airlines retired all 5 of its 747-300s in 1998 after 13 years of service.
