This week, TeenNick launched its “The ’90s Are All That” midnight-2 a.m. block to strong ratings. The retro roster inspired a wave of nostalgia in college-age and older viewers, who remembered growing up under the influence of the fashion sense of Clarissa Darling, the good-kid-done-wrong ethos of Doug Funnie, and the slapstick stylings of Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell. But beyond Kenan, Kel, Clarissa, and Doug, who will be next to to burn the midnight oil?
TeenNick does not yet have set end date in mind for the block, though it has already confirmed that it will start introducing...

Unbelievably, Hey Dude, Nickelodeon's teen-focused, dude ranch extravaganza, started airing in 1989. That isn't unbelievable because of how long ago it was, but because I find it hard to imagine I was actually that old when it came out.
The misadventures of the Bar None Ranch was the first original, live-action program on the network. Though it didn't last an especially long time in first runs, it lived on for quite a while on the network, and paved the way for more original shows by the network that soon followed - Welcome Freshmen, Clarissa Explains It All, Salute Your Shorts, Doug, Rugrats, and many others.
Thus, odd as it may sound, the show has its place in TV history, and is pretty legitimately the forefather of the teen market of shows now ruled by such treasures as iCarly.
The show opened with the return to summer employment at the ranch, with...

Are You Afraid of the Dark? This is one of my favorite sub-genres that was included in the 30 day horror challenge. A more appropriate question would be "what horror themed TV series did I not like?". So many good ones to pick from. I grew up watching The Hitchhiker which always featured scummy characters getting their just deserts. Or there was Tales From the Crypt which featured slick, old school styled stories, but updated them for modern times with gore and violence. And who didn't just love The Cryptkeeper?!? Even Freddy Krueger got in on the action with a short lived series entitled Freddy's Nightmares which suffered from inconsistency. I grew up when the horror themed TV series was at its peak with a wide variety of shows to choose from. However, the series I picked reflects upon me as a kid growing up. So I give you.....

Reason No. 102,390 I wish we lived in a Simpsons-esque world where people stay the same age forever: I’d never have to look at child stars I used to love and realize how much time has gone by. This story about the stars of Salute Your Shorts particularly jarred me. Z.Z. works in ad sales. Budnick has a child(?!). And when did Donkeylips turn into Gabriel Iglesias? Ugh. I hate change.
Despite my distress, I still propose a Nickelodeon ’90s show reunion. What happened to all the kids from Welcome Freshmen (IMDb is little help…). Alex Mack was on...
