- The wacky ups and downs of a group of kids attending their first year of high school.
- 52 episodes of this show for the teenage set were produced 1991-1993. The show takes place at Hawthorne High School with the bumbling vice principal, Mr. Lippman and his absentminded secretary Miss Petruka as the obligatory adults. The kids were Walter, a bumbling schemer; Kevin, a black student; Grant, the dumb athlete, and his girlfriend Alex; and Grant's sister Erin.—J.E. McKillop <jack-mckillop@worldnet.att.net>
- Welcome Freshmen was filmed at Nickelodeon Studios in Orlando, Florida. The earlier episodes of the series consisted of comedy sketches that loosely followed a theme. Some of the comedy routines involved a tortoise teaching children about safety, a documentarian who talks about past generations of freshmen, the principal imagining himself as a stand-up comedian, and a student who, though his appearance was occasional, provided not only a good example of how not to behave, but also a good example of flatulence. In the later episodes, this format was abandoned and an episode would follow a plot in its entirety.—JimmyTehBanana
- A comedy about high school from all angles (the jock, the girlfriend, the geek, the con-artist, the environmentalist...okay, so some of the stereotypes were a little usual). As they'd discuss their day and the strage adults that surrounded them, they'd dream about how they wished high school was. The show also included silly inbetweener skits such as "Mortis, the Safety Tortoise".—Max Vaughn
