The same squint that George Hamilton gives is very similar to that of his other comedy film, "Love At First Bite" when Dracula uses it to hypnotize his intended victims to his will. In this film, the squint is mainly used as a device to make him look like the murderer.

Spoilers

The trivia item below may give away important plot points.

The only time the complete principal cast consisting of the late John Candy, Ornella Muti, Cybill Shepard, James Belushi, Sean Young, Richard Lewis, George Hamilton and Giancarlo Giannini all appear together is very late in the film to reveal the identity of the killer of Madame Van Dougen. The cast does interact with one another in different scenes together at various other times but this is the one major scene they all appear in.
