A good series which didn't last too long...
icehole420 April 2001
the premise behind this series of following a nurse as she worked was a good concept that was just simply ignored because it was on the then-new Fox network. Probably the best scenes occurred between Christine Ebersol (Rachel) and Bryan Brightcloud (Zac.) It was a good sitcom that just simply was ignored in its time.

Rachel Gunn, RN was an excellent sitcom
marlenexcross17 June 2007
As a nurse, I found Rachel Gunn, RN to be dangerously refreshing. She did so many things that nurses would have liked to have done, but didn't have the nerve to do. Her character was strong, respectful, and caring....and always on the side of her patients. So many medical shows try to cover the real drama, but Rachel Gunn, RN covered the humorous side of nursing. It was medical slapstick at its best. I never missed an episode, and laughed till I cried through every one. I have a couple of episodes on video and my friends have thoroughly enjoyed this comedy. I wish the series was available on DVD...I know it would be a hit with the nursing community.

Mullally as the lead
SnoopyStyle18 January 2021
Sassy head nurse Rachel Gunn is often at odds with self-aggrandizing surgeon David Dunkel. After his divorce, he needs a new place and rents Rachel's apartment next to her home. Becky Jo (Megan Mullally) and native American Zac are two other nurses under Rachel. Dane is the orderly. Sister Joan is the sweet happy nun.

This is a summer replacement show for Fox probably modeled after "Married... with Children" especially being created by Katherine Green, a MwC co-producer. It's a standard workplace sitcom with similar crassness but less imaginative. It also suffers from being badly conceived as a Single Gal Sitcom. There is barely any romantic engagement. Rachel's dates are nothing more than joke fodders. There is no possibility of romance with Dunkel considering their chemistry. It's interesting that the show has Megan Mullally before her fame. Quite frankly, the show may work better if it follows Becky Jo as the lead. She could do more romance and Rachel can be her angry mentor. It would work better.

Megan Mullally?!

This is such an adorable sitcom! Two time Emmy Winner Megan Mullally (best known for her 8-season role as Karen Walker on the acclaimed Will&Grace) costars and she is, as usual, amazingly funny and full of talent. This show was, for the incredibly short amount of time that it was on the air, very funny and it really had a good premise. It's really a shame that it was canceled so quickly... Megan Mullally is absolutely hilarious as Becky Jo... (If any Megan fans want to watch some of the clips, visit Meganmullally.co.UK- it's not my site or anything like that but they have some good clips...) It's a cute show and Megan, of course, did a phenomenal job.
