Better than the first, but still pretty boring and confusing
Groverdox20 January 2019
The first "Mirror Images" was among the worst of the straight-to-video erotic thrillers I have seen. These movies always go overboard on the plot - to the extent that it gets in the way of the sex - but they rarely go as far as that movie, which included twins swapping identities, political scandal, and a masked slasher. It was boring, and also wasted Julie Strain.

So I approached this sequel with trepidation. It does have a bright spot, however: b-movie goddess Shannon Whirry is in it this time, in the dual role.

It's yet another softcore b-movie made by the supposed "Scorsese of b-films", Gregory Dark. I think he should be rechristened the "Alan Smithee of Smut" based on his penchant for pseudonyms and the general low standard of his work. Scorsese? Please.

Yet again, we get Whirry talking to a therapist, as she did in the Animal Instincts movies, and a husband who doesn't mind if she cheats.

In this one, the evil twin (yes, there's always a good one and an evil one) cheats with the good twin's husband, apparently fooling him into thinking she is the good one. When the good one walks in on them, the husband falls down the stairs to his death, and then we are told that the bad twin died in a fire someplace.

I wonder if there was ever anyone who watched this movie who actually thought she was really dead?

You know one thing that generally signposts a softcore flick as being from the nineties?

Saxaphones during sex scenes.

I get tired of that, and appreciated "Mirror Images II" for having an unusual soundtrack in that it didn't feature them.

This one doesn't skimp on the sex, as some of these b-skin flicks have (unbelievably) been guilty of doing, but I confess I actually got a little tired of the sex scenes this time around. I am starting to feel that if you have seen one softcore sex scene, you've seen them all.

The movie totally lost me in the second half, but don't they always. I couldn't be bothered following it, which I'm sure would have been an exercise in futility. It's a confusing jumble, and who can be bothered trying to untangle it when the pieces are so uninteresting?

At least "Mirror Images II" was better than the sub-par first one.

Mirror Images II
jboothmillard3 November 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I can hardly remember this film. All I remember is that it's another one of those films with a silly script, but worth seeing for the nudity. What can I tell you, this girl played by the great breasted Shannon Whirry probably meets a guy and just has a load of sex with him. There must be a lesbian scene in it somewhere by the look of the front cover. All I can remember is obviously the many great shots of Whirry's fantastic breasts, and this is probably the only good reason to see this film, or any other of her films. If I were you, just see it for the nudity, apart from that one thing this is pretty rubbish. Silly script, good nudity, that's it.

Better Than Its Predecessor
Uriah432 June 2022
This film essentially begins with a young girl named "Terrie" (Crystal Jade McKay) witnessing the death of her mother at the hands of her father. Needless to say, this traumatizes the young girl and because of that she eventually grows up into an extremely angry woman (now played by Shannon Whirry) who cannot stand the sight of him. To that effect, after an altercation breaks out between them and the father is killed as a result, Terrie immediately leaves the house and never returns. This, in turn, leaves all of her father's possessions in the hands of her twin sister "Carrie" (also played by Shannon Whirry). Not long after that, Carrie receives word that Terrie has been killed in a mysterious fire and, now being quite rich, she eventually falls in love and marries a man named "Clete Dyker" (Luca Bercovicci) who just happens to work for the local police department. Unfortunately for Carrie, her husband is not only a crooked cop but she also suspects him of cheating on her as well-and then things begin to take a bizarre turn for the worse. Now, rather than reveal any more, I will just say that I had some concerns about this film since the one before it wasn't really that good. That being said, while this certainly wasn't a great film either, it turned out to better than the previous one due in large part to the presence of several attractive actresses like Kristine Kelly (as "Dr. Erika Rubin"), Sara Suzanne Brown (as the "Prostitute"), P. J. Sparxx (as the "Present") and, of course, the aforementioned Shannon Whirry. On that note, I should probably warn viewers that there are several scenes involving strong sexual content and for that reason parental discretion is definitely advised. Be that as it may, while certainly not a great film by any means, it still managed to pass the time fairly well and I have rated it accordingly. Average.

shannon whirry wow!!!!
dean raspin9 December 2001
well i would love to give a detailed plot summery but this film is all about shannon whirry. the woman is so sexy in this role playing good and bad twin sisters. shannon has been in a lot of films like this but i feel this is her best performance and also sexiest. her lesbian scenes one with the councellor and the other with a prostitute are very erotic and well done. shannon is also a talented actress and would hold her own in a big money hollywood production. as you can guess i am a big fan of shannon whirry. thank tou for reading this.

The bright side of Gregory Dark
BandSAboutMovies22 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
You know what works every time? The idea that one twin is uninhibited and has a life like you'd read about in Penthouse Forum and another who has a loveless marriage in the lost world of the suburbs. It's worked so many times and so well that Gregory Dark did it twice, with the first being Mirror Images, which is quite logical.

But if you've watched any of his films - his mainstream ones - Shannon Whirry seems like his muse. And so any film with her in it just fires on all cylinders so much better. This time around, she's both Carrie and Terrie, who were seperated when their dad murdered their mother and was in turn killed by the bad twin. But the good twin, well, she's in an abusive relationship now, much less a sexles one, and all she has is a therapist, Dr. Erika Rubin, who wants her to lie down on something more than just the couch.

Yet when the evil twin comes back, well, what if she wants revenge? And what if she's willing to hook up with the abusive husband? What if indeed? Beneath the surface gloss and fox and neon and imagery that looks like it stepped out of a 1980s issue of Oui, there's a dramatic battle for the mind and soul, the line that is drawn between the virgin and the experienced, good and evil and what that really means. Dark's always throwing psychological games into his films, even when he was shooting movies where Vanessa Del Rio was a brainwashed agent of the KGB and this was supposed to be her Deep Inside greatest hits and ended up being something way, way different. And better.

When I was a kid watching these movies on Cinemax, this is how I thought people actually made love. In my life, I have never heard a saxophone while getting biblical, nor have I ever just touched someone's upper body for ten minutes at a time while fog billowed out from under the bed.

Honestly, life can't match up to a Gregory Dark love scene.

It truly is Shannon at her best!
bill11223313 December 2000
You know what you are getting when you watch a movie with Shannon Whirry as the star. This is probably the best movie to see her in all her glory. She certainly knows how to fill a bra!

As the twin sisters, there isn't anything that Shannon will not do. Must admit, it is difficult seeing her play a character that appears to be frigid. With a body like hers she was made to play the part of a sex siren.

As with most of these films the plot isn't the main consideration. But, the story line is better than most. We watch these films for the babes. It will not disappoint.

Color Me Impressed
refinedsugar17 January 2024
Shannon Whirry jumps in a shower within the first 2 minutes showing some bush. A sex scene follows quickly after. Hardcore director Gregory Dark under a pseudonym trots out a tale with the usual genre tropes - murder, deceit, cheating - with the twin dynamic also found in the original. There's no denying 'Mirror Images II' totally feels like a T&A flick from 1993, but it delivers the "good stuff" constantly.

Carrie & Terrie (Whirry) are two identical twins with a sordid past. Deceased parents and a wealthy inheritance. In the present, Terrie has disappeared & apparently died. Carrie is sexually repressed but rich. Unhappily married with a prenup to corrupt cop Clete (Luca Bercovici) who beyond cheating & pimping women out is - surprise surprise - in cahoots with a returning Terrie to get all the money.

The story goes at a slow & steady pace allowing for lots of sex but little in the way of surprises. An ex-cop turned PI, therapist are used for plot dialog and more sex. A cliche moody soundtrack fills the air. Whirry playing both roles is front & center getting naked a ton and looks great doing so. Good girl wears white and is timid. Bad girl wears black and is DTF. You've seen the cover. A couple more ladies in the cast provide skin and allow for two girl/girl scenes.

'Mirror Images II' won't change your stance on softcore flicks if you don't already enjoy them to a degree. However the quantity of nudity on display is really high. The "key" scenes are well shot. Nice butt shots, more bush in addition to the standard boobs & simulated sex. A sequel that is big step up from the original.

Shannon delivers her sexiest performance.
insomniac_rod22 December 2006
Another check mark on Shannon Whirry and Gregory Dark! This movie goes directly to the point and fills us with sexy sex scenes , intense dialogs, and hot situations.

The movie starts with a wild sex scene where Shannon Whirry rides some guy and gets busted by her sister or something like that. The scene is very steamy and yes, it has a mirror in the background.

The rest of the sex scenes are also very good but can't be compared with the amazing opening sequence.

The acting is quite good and Shannon looks at her best. If you can't get enough of Shannon, watch this movie you will be pleased and probably wanting more! The sex scenes are really well done and focus a little bit more on the sensual aspect rather than on classy camera angles.

Not exactly a plot novelty
jmrecillas-8343531 March 2018
First thing on this title: is not the most original plot you can get or came up for a movie. Basically you can trace its origins to Dr. Jeckill and Mr. Hyde, not to mention the Bible itself in the story of Cain and Abel, for which not only there are a lot of adaptations, some good and some ready to send to the trash can with hesitation, but also on the wide open space of B-movies or erotic thrills. This is the case. Of course, the list of Hollywood hits, B-movies and erotic thrillers that covers the same plot of an opposite twins is long as a boring political speech.

I think that this version is a variation of a previous one, Lies of the twins (1991), which was not the best vehicle for Isabella Rossellini's actoral skills, which are very low by the way. As in that expample, if you like Isabella's face and body as model, you probably don't pay to much atention to the acting and anjoy body display, for which that TV movie is relatively famous. Mirror images II is also a story of twins, one good one evil, poorly developed and sustained, also, on body and softcore erotic scenes, enjoyable for Shannon Whirry, who find a perfect partner behind lenses on mr. Gregory Dark, who has no big name outside B-erotic movies and many musical videoclips. This is one of his over average typical work of the nineties.

Its a pretty good sequel to previous one (1992) with Delia Shepard as main character, and shows not exactly a better plot, but as better female main character with Shannon Whirry. She is the only reason to this movie is a little better that previous one, since is directed by mr. Dark once again and has almost not differences between. Since story is pretty average and filmaking is practically the same that its predecesor, the only reason to give it better qualifications is because Shannon Whirry. If you like her, you sure like this one just for her. And yes, she has some interesting actoral skills that, with a better coaching could exploited on mainstream films. Unfortunately, she does not.

Shannon Whirry is hypnotic.
She's just so gorgeous and the film has way more plot than you'd expect. It's very good and I actually began watching more for the film itself rather than just her nude scenes. I like films by Greg Hippolyte and this is one of his and Whirrys best. Rent it when you can.

Hot chicks, little clothing.
fork-lift24 July 1999
A nicely done R-rated skin flick, not too much plot getting in the way of the erotica...Shannon Whirry is amazing, all the women in the film are quite attractive. Funny, the one woman in the movie that I found attractive, the housekeeper, was the only one who kept her clothes on...

Eye Candy Hall of Fame

If by some cruel twist of fate you were told you could only watch one Shannon Whirry film in your lifetime, this film should be your choice. Ms. Whirry is just lovely and this role allows her to show her full range of talents. Simply put, the definition of luscious is Ms. Whirry. While Ms. Whirry carries the film, the supporting cast of Sara Suzanne Brown and Lauren Hays further elevate our viewing pleasure.

Double the Pleasure
Justin-MacLean19 February 2003
Okay, let's be honest.

If you are renting this movie, you're looking to "relieve" some tension, so now the question will be, is it worth your $2.50? Mmm.....

You'll get to see Shanon Whirry is a dual role, which means double the plaasure.

One as the Bad Girl and the other as the Good Girl.

Acting is BY FAR much better than your typical B-Flick, with a decent plot, but then again, that's not why you are renting.

I would HIGHLY recommend seeing this flick if you are looking to "relieve" some tension.

Flesh show, and not much else
kifaru21 September 2001
Right off, let me say I appreciate beautiful women. I'm also not averse to a movie designed solely for the purpose of showing me the natural (and/or scientifically enhanced)attributes of said women. What I don't like is a promise undelivered.

"Mirror Images II" is just that. It starts off tepidly, bringing back the good twin/bad twin conflict. But then it sort of peters out. It's like it lost it's direction (not surprisingly after Sara Suzanne Brown appears and steals the show with her gravity-defying body) and couldn't decide who the real villain was, the evil twin or the scummy cop/husband of evil twin's sister. In the end (and who couldn't see this end a few minutes into the flick?), both pay the price for being evil, and good twin is free to enjoy sex with the handsome PI she's known for a week (Hey. In California that's a long-term comittment/)

Some films give you the impression they're some of the cast off results of the old "infinite number of monkeys typing" experiment, and I suspect the offending primate who authored this was summarily beaten to death by his counterparts. Or maybe auteur Gregory Dark (Hippolyte) is the twisted genius behind this mess. All of the women in this flick are major league babes. A couple even exhibit a hint of talent. The trouble is, the material is so lame, and the erotic scenes so stiff or bland (except for the girl-on-girl sequences, which start off strong, then retreat into soft-focus voyeurism), that the fast-forward button gets a healthy workout. Shannon Whirry deserves better material. I was heartened a few years back to see her on "The New Mike Hammer" with Stacey Keach. Since then, she's sunk from view.

Aside from the aforementioned Ms. Brown, Kristine Kelley is the only one trying to act. The other women are decorations, except PJ Sparxx, who performs as is expected for an adult film star. Give these women better material, and give us a break.

The lovely Shannon Whirry plus a bona fide porn starlet
seeker-821 November 1998
Not only is the lovely, the luscious, the buxom ms Whirry here in abundance, with her two great talents (plus) amply and frequently on display, but she has a brief lesbian encounter with none other than adult movie starlet P. J. Sparxx.

Of course, this makes perfect sense considering that Mr. Hippolyte is envelope-pushing porn director Gregory Dark.

Gentlemen. I can't reccommend this one highly enough.

Lovely Twins Deceive Men in Bedroom & Themselves Too
mgmtdr10 March 2004
Here, as in Mirror Images there are two identical twins. However, after reading the review for Mirror Images, I find II to be much better. For one, there is Sharron Wirrly. She is worth the high price that this VHS is now bringing, albeit possibly it is also on VCD. The main man is an unknown rough lying piece of scum with a badge. The other protagonist is a nice guy private-eye. One thinks the other is dead so she goes on her separate life. Scum knows both are alive. Many steamy sexual situations. Wirrly gives Tweed physical competition and also Severance although being blond.

For those who like complex UR films that earn the rating often, this is an enjoyable movie. Not on the order of Tweed or Severance films but Wirrly is well worth the price and time.

Shannon Whirry is as her hottest in this soft-porn, direct to video movie which has great sex and little plot. But then again with MS. Whirry and the rest of the sexy ladies, WHO NEEDS PLOT! Enjoy!
