Leslie Ann Warren and Corbin Bernsen are passable in their roles. However, the two playing children Kevin and Colleen were excellent. But.. and this is a big but.. the writing is the worst I think I have ever seen. The actors had nothing to go on that was remotely believable. The plot is so implausible and character changes were downright ridiculous. Who would believe that the Kevin character would drive across the country to kill a sister he loved because in one sentence his mother said it was the sister's fault????? Not me. Who would believe the mother who was so close to her children would do this... And I say this being a pessimist at times... Just terrible. I can't believe I sat through the whole thing. I guess I was waiting for it to get better.

This was a great movie and considering it's true was even more touching! The acting was great especially a surprise performance by Dash Mihok as Kevin.

The movie focuses around a family that's going through some hard times. Brice and Lisa plan on getting married but Brice's ex-wife is threatening to get a restraining order put out on Brice where he will not be able to see his kids. They've decided to set up a plan to kill her (his ex-wife) without getting caught. Lisa and Brice find a house in Florida that would be "great" for them to move to; the only problem is there daughter Colleen, is engaged to be married and can't leave her fiance behind but also can't leave her mother and mentally challenged brother Kevin. Lisa tells Colleen she can keep the house and live there. After Lisa has gained her daughter's trust she thinks that Colleen will stop at nothing to do something for her mother even if it means being part of a murder. Lisa tells Colleen about the whole thing and all they need her to do is to receive a package and keep it a secret not even telling her fiance Dennis. Colleen decides that she can't do it and takes the gun to the police who eventually arrest Brice and Lisa.
This movie is great, it will make you laugh, cry, and even jumpy at some points. I never really watched Lifetime movies but this one is just one i can't pass up.

I am very bias on this movie. It was based on a true story of my brother and my sister-in-law. This movie was made because my sister-in-laws mother did try to kill her. Oh and in real life, her brother does not have any special needs. He did what he did because his mother told him too, but in the end her mother, the boyfriend, and her brother went to jail with the intent to kill my sister-in-law. I remember when this was actually taking place and the helicopters shooting the actual footage of my sister-in-law bringing the boyfriend out of the airport to the car. It was on the news at the time. I was very young when this all went on, but I do remember this. And I'm proud to say that since this actually happened in 1994, and it is 2010- they (my brother and sister-in-law) are happily married.
