This is yet another nice animated film from the Canadian Film Board. Over the decades, this organization has done a lot to encourage animated films--and often the type that are not commercially oriented. In other words, "artsy" films and animation that is on the experimental side are encouraged through these government grants and as a result, the Canadians have won a remarkable number of Oscars for animated shorts.
HOW WINGS ARE ATTACHED is definitely one of these experimental art films, as I just can't see it getting funding otherwise. The film features amazing black and white animation in a dark and rather Gothic style--sort of like Charles Addams' work combined with old Rube Goldberg contraptions. The story itself was only okay, but frankly you watch this film for the art and style and less for the story--which might confuse most viewers.
See this film if you like offbeat or avant-garde animation....or if you just want to see some amazingly beautiful animation.
