The conversation of a lifetime
mas95jed31 December 2003
This movie was something of a new thing for me when I saw it the first time. There are several conversations that I have used my self. Like the guy working at MC Donalds when one of the employees show up very late one morning, Manager: Where have you been?

Boy: I been at the hairdresser cutting my hair!

Manager: On your work-time?

Boy: It grow out on work-time!

Manager: Not all of it!

Boy: I haven't cut all of it off either!!!

Stuff like this is what I think makes the movie so funny! I guess most of the jokes are hard to translate from Swedish, but you should see the movie, at least if you speak Swedish!

Experimental narration but banal story
Martin_Ljungqvist31 December 1998
A story about Daniel who spends the summer in Malmö and meets a girl there. Experimental editing with high frequent MTV-cuts together with odd camera perspectives and a rapid dialogue makes sure that the audience won't forget this film. On the other side, the-shakier-camera-makes-it-all-more-cool can get a bit boring in the long run. The script is poor but passes without distinction; a boy-meets-girl story with teenagers talk in between. It could have been a narration about how it is to be young and searching for love and struggling with boring parents, but it isn't. Maybe the teen audience wants the story that way, superficial without the deep feelings. I think Beautiful weather is an unforgettable experimental cool teen movie, more than a piece of art.

A straightforward, attractive movie

This used to be one of my favorite movies when I was younger. It's banal, but it does it's work very well with different settings. It's simple and it tells its story. I think its straightforwardness makes it an attractive little movie, that many people should be able to appreciate.

The basic theme is a stranger (from Stockholm) who comes to town (Malmö, in Skåne) for the summer. There, he falls in love with the local girl.

I come from the region, where it all happens, and it should be able to pass as a cult film regionally, I think. I'm afraid many people don't remember it though.
