Tom Stoppard should sue...
haldane4-110 May 2006
Alas no relation to Stoppard's amusing play Jumpers - instead this is a short film from the pen of the always excruciating Colin Bateman. I caught it on BBC Northern Ireland one night, a 1997 dry run for the illiterate and moneyed film-making which is currently so prevalent in the North. It's only point of interest is that it was filmed at the old Leisure World store in Belfast - now sadly demolished. I think that is also its main pitch as there is certainly nothing funny or original in the script. I suppose you could say it has a sub-theme about the merciless pace of change in Belfast, post ceasefires, but that would be pushing it - it's not about anything. A pointless waste of money.
