Running almost constantly from its opening in 1998 until its closing in 2008, it was the longest running show in the Star Trek franchise.
Cast members from Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987) have been amazed at the Enterprise-D bridge re-creation, as they'd never seen it in one piece before, due to the mechanics of filming the television show.
The original title of this attraction was simply "Star Trek: The Experience-The Ride" upon opening in 1998, when it was the only choice for tourists at the venue. That changed in 2003, when the coming of the sister attraction "Borg 4-D Adventure" showed the need for an actual title to better distinguish between them.
