Sex & Nudity

  • Men and women are gathered in a co-ed shower room. Dozens of people of both sexes shown nude. Camera angles and objects keep genitals out of view but we see plenty of bare breasts and buttocks.
  • A man and woman slide down their pants to moon someone.
  • During the shower scene, a woman slaps a man's bare butt.
  • A man is recording a video message for his girlfriend, and two characters pull down their pants exposing their bare buttocks. This is meant to be funny.
  • A man and a woman go into a tent, and start making out. The woman undoes the Man's shirt, and he takes it off. Then she takes of her shirt, and we see her bare breasts, they continue to make out. Her breasts are only visible for a couple seconds during this scene.

Violence & Gore

  • A bunch of kids are crushing bugs.
  • Many humans are impaled by bugs. Some humans are beheaded by flying bugs with claws and some are sucked into the ground by burrowing bugs. A man is shown with bloody stumps after being sucked into the ground.
  • A woman is impaled through the stomach and chest and people try to hold her down to take claws out while blood is spewing out.
  • A man's arm is broken in a grappling hold. The bone is briefly shown protruding.
  • A woman is cut in half by a door (with some blood). A bug pokes a man's head and sucks his brains out.
  • A man has a hole in his head and another man sticks his fingers in the hole.
  • A man chokes a woman with his legs.
  • A man is flogged with blood shown on his back with each lash.
  • Hospital scene with lots of blood and people with amputated limbs.
  • Many bugs shot down with assault rifles, RPGs, and hand grenades.
  • Green blood and blown off claws shown.
  • A couple of realistic images of shattered corpses
  • All the violence is extremely graphic and very gory.

Profanity

  • For a R rating, the profanity is on a PG-13 level such as only 1 use of "fucking", 5 of "shit", 1 of "hell", 3 of "ass", 1 of "bastard", 4 of "damn".

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Drugs: None
  • Smoking: None
  • Casual alcohol use.
  • There is one scene on the bug planet: People have a party and drink beer

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Strong sequences of gory sci-fi horror throughout. A variety of enormous insectoid alien monsters kill human soldiers in various graphic ways. Full gory detail and vicious depictions of gruesome/brutal violence (including gun violence).
  • The bugs can be frightening to some. Also many of the killings and gory scenes are intense.
  • The brain bug, which is frightening, sucks the brain out of a human. This scene may disturb some.
  • A part of South America is devastated, many die. This scene is quite sad as Rico's parents are implied to have also died.
  • This movie is very intense and bloody, but the satirical tone lightens things up a bit.
  • A cow is eviscerated by a giant inesctoid alien; though a "censored" bar partially obscures it, the scene is still quite gruesome. (The censor bar was intended to be a joke.)
