I remember this as a truly great show.

Although I saw this series around 1975 in Australia I still remember it as a stand-out series. Revolving around Mr Moody and Miss Pegg, who both buy the same flat from a scoundrel, who absconds with both purchase sums, leaving our two characters at loggerheads arguing who has legal ownership. With no money left after "purchase" they both move into "their" flat. Their relationship develops over the 12 episodes, slowly mutating from open hostility through various stages of angst to ultimately genuine affection (non sexual).

Also I recall this series as providing a leg up for Tony Selby who plays Sid, the slightly dodgy but very likable and warm hearted antique dealer. Sid plays the foil to the anger of the main characters to each other and their predicament. I remember this series for the wonderful writing and acting from the whole cast. Although it is dated now I recommend this as one of the best 10 TV series I have ever seen.

Excellent. These are clearly stage actors - perfect timing. Judy Cornwell, as always, does so much with her eyes in front of the camera and she does not disappoint in this delightful series. Dated? No. Yes its set in the 1970s but stands up perfectly and a great example of professional actors who know how to deliver. Could work equally well on a stage with one set. Very enjoyable!
