A great show considering it's from the 80s

The other posted comment about this show says that this show was set in Dallas, TX and didn't have Geraint Wyn Davies. I don't understand why the other IMDb member said this unless he saw the wrong one. Now, there is a 1999 "To Serve and Protect" that was set in Dallas, TX. So maybe he saw the wrong one then came back here and commented on the 1985 "To Serve and Protect" by mistake.

Let me clarify---the 1985 one is the one that has Geraint Wyn Davies with the setting being Toronto, Ontario. And it was very good. He is an excellent actor and I've seen him in just about everything he has done. I highly recommend this show.

This fails on so many levels. I thought I would be seeing a movie about a Toronto police unit with Geraint Wyn Davies but someone selected the wrong synopsis. It's not easy to mistake Dallas for Toronto. The concept is unlikely and it would have made a better 2 hour movie than 3+ hour mini-series. While the plot requires a huge suspension of disbelief, what bothered me the most was that I am familiar with Dallas and many of the locales. I have never encountered a family who has lived in the area for over 3 generations and DOES NOT HAVE A Texas ACCENT AMONG THEM. The good news is that the serial killer is clever and devious enough to keep one guessing,if not necessarily paying attention. Now if I could just see the one with the Toronto locale!
