At the movie's screening after its completion, producer Willis Kent determined that the film was so badly made as to be unreleasable. Since director J. Frank Glendon had not shown up for the screening and was nowhere to be found, Kent turned to stunt coordinator Yakima Canutt--who was the only person besides Kent to show up for the screening--and asked him to re-shoot the picture. According to Canutt, he re-shot virtually the entire film, but because of contractual technicalities could not receive credit for it.
The earliest documented telecasts of this film took place in Chicago Friday 24 February 1950 on WGN (Channel 9) and in Los Angeles Tuesday 22 August 1950 on KTSL (Channel 2).
