Aired in France after midnight as erotic movies in early 2000.
Features first nude scene for Leslie Harter (the future Mrs. Robert Zemeckis). She told Femme Fatales magazine, "It was kind of shocking. The panic is not about anybody touching you. What you really think about is what your body looks like. It's like you're thinking, 'Are they seeing fat'? What are they seeing?' You think about sucking in your gut and positioning yourself to look good."
Gabriella Hall, who stars in the Motel Magic episode (season 2, episode 2) posed nude for Playboy, who produces this series, in the December '96 issue to promote the show.
Producers pitched the show to Showtime as an erotic series about women written and directed by women to appeal to female viewers. But, since it's produced by Playboy, they were still required to feature an abundance of nudity and sex to pull in a large male audience too.
When producers first approached writer Elisa Rothstein, who had already tallied experience as an executive in movies and television, to be the creator and executive producer, she wasn't interested because she thought they'd push her to hire Playboy bunnies and kowtow to the usual exploitative trend. But they soon convinced Rothstein they were serious about tailoring a sensuous series related from a woman's point of view. So she accepted their offer. She also agreed to play the one character that appears in every episode to bring all the stories together after one of the producers suggested it.
