Presumed to be a lost film.
After shooting ended, the undeveloped film sat on the shelf for a few months while Oscar Micheaux made a second film, Birthright (1924).
Many of the cast members had also appeared in the Broadway stage revue "Shuffle Along" in 1921. Director Oscar Micheaux had seen the production and wanted to incorporate parts of the material into his film.
The completed film ran into some problems with the state censorship. The New York censors objected to the film's depiction of violence, particularly against women and animals, while Virginia censors complained the film's references to miscegenation would "prove offensive to Southern ladies."
Debut in theatrical film of singer/actress Josephine Baker.
