Warning: Spoilers
Yes he plays in an uncredited role as the court reporter. One of the extras as the part of the public observing the t looks like an over weight Warren Williams, but that probably was not him. This is the 1931 version made for the German audience in Hollywood California, at m.g.m in Culver city, not Berlin.Nora Gregor is substituting for Norma Shearer and was required to impersonate her performance. So Seeing her act as Norma indicates that Norma did not over act in the original.Although in the beginning ,when you see Nora crying as she is being arrested for Murdering her lover Edgar Rice and you see his dead body, she does over act,but , during half of the trial she doe not say anything, which might indicated that Irving Thalberg in the American version wanted to surprise the audience with Norma s voice.Gregor on her on does a good job as a women who is stressed out cause she being accuses of murdering Her boy friend.Egon Von Jordan plays Mary's lawyer brother Jimmy. In the beginning he is not aware that she had an affair with Mr.Rice.Well when he is confronted by that he is momentary shocked, but then understands.Different people, who knew Mary are sent to the witness stand to testify of whats going on It would of been lot better if they paid a few more cents and added subtitles. There's a surprise of who ended up the real murder. In the beginning Nora sees a women being sentence to the death penalty ,which causes the girl to scream.Nora stars fearing and imagines she being sent to the electric chair. There's a happy ending. The print is sharp and as good as the yet to be restored version of Mamba ,1930.digital.there's a propaganda new reel and a color puppet theatrical commercial film selling typewriters.Available ,at this writing at www.Germanwarfilms.com 03/06/13
