Any man who can make Right Said Fred politically resonant is clearly doing something right. And John Oliver is such a man. He certainly dreamed up a novel way to trash Syria's Bashar al-Assad on his HBO show, Last Week Tonight With John Oliver. After news reports that the dictator downloaded iTunes tracks from Lmfao, Chris Brown and Right Said Fred, Oliver noted, "He's half mass murderer and half your creepy sophomore-year roommate." But then he brought on Right Said Fred to rework their Nineties-cheese classic "I'm Too Sexy" into...

Los Angeles, Nov 12: Actor George Clooney only has words of praise for his friend and actress Sandra Bullock. He is happy that she has managed to stir up a buzz for an Oscar with her performance in "Gravity".
"Isn't she great," he said here at the AFI Film Festival premiere of "August: Osage County" here recently.
"I've known Sandy (Sandra) for - she doesn't want me to say - over 25 years," he added.
Clooney, 52, who is close to Bullock's three-and-a-half-year-old son Louis, has stood by Bullock since their struggling days. He has seen her through her tough days, including her divorce from husband Jesse James.

Sometimes even when George Clooney is joking, he can be serious. The Oscar winner was in a playful mood when People caught up with him at the AFI Film Festival premiere of August: Osage County in Hollywood on Friday. Clooney produced the film, which stars his friends Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep, and he spoke to People about another pal, Sandra Bullock, who's getting Oscar buzz for her role in their film, Gravity. "Isn't she great?" he smiled. "I've known Sandy for - she doesn't want me to say - over 25 years." Clooney, 52, who has gotten close to Bullock's 3½-year-old son,...

Emma Stone appears poised for stardom in this week's 'Easy A,' a comedy about a high school student who doesn't give a damn about her (made-up) bad reputation until her small town classmates completely turn on her. Cinematical caught up with director Will Gluck ('Fired Up!'), the man responsible for giving Stone her much-deserved break-out role, to share our mutual love for Emma Stone, talk teen sexuality, and find out more about his next film, the Justin Timberlake-Mila Kunis romantic comedy 'Friends with Benefits.'
Along the way we managed to take a few detours into 'Sixteen Candles' fandom, because, let's face it; no fan of '80s cinema should ever pass up the opportunity to compare notes on the real life Jake Ryan (real name: Michael Schoeffling). Read on for all this and more, including how...

Optimus Rhyme: So, there's really no better time than finals week to volunteer for Ee. I'm all jacked up on caffeine and Adderall, but I really don't want to do anything scholastic. What's that? You need someone to sort through the past weeks comments on a Wednesday night? No problem!
However, this week Ee was a two man job. Allow me to introduce my ladyfriend, battgirl. Say hello to the nice people, sweetie.
Battgirl: Hello, nice people. I just want you to know that I do not condone the abuse of prescription medication, even for cramming a semester of information in one night. That's all him.
Or: Isn't she great! Now. I've composed a little number in honor of this weeks winners:
They bring the bitchy and the scathing
and the words they don't mince.
Lemme tell you all about my favorite
Elo-quents
Bg: No lame rapping, dear. It's bad...

I've been on a Mad Men bender. Nine episodes in the past three days. This decision was spurred on by a hugely thoughtful gift from a friend (1st and 2nd season) and the abundant Emmy nominations last week. Just as I began to watch Season 1 in marathon form -- I'd only seen some of it not being a regular until season 2 -- the publicity blitz for Season 3 (coming in August) started hitting.
This Interview interview with January Jones (aka "Betty Draper") is so cute.
Who knew that that Ethan Hawke wolfdog movie White Fang (1991) was that inspiring to little children? It made little January want to be an actor. Jones is so sneaky/fantastic as Betty Draper (she's almost too good in the role for you to notice how much she's doing... initially) that I must now thank the makers of White Fang for contributing to the wonder that is Mad Men.
