- This entry in MGM's Passing Parade series looks at the meaning of dreams, including one by Abraham Lincoln that foretold his death.
- Is a presentation of the mysterious world of dreams which mankind has forever tried to understand: if they are variations of past experiences, prognostications of the future, and/or something totally unrelated to the dreamer's actual self. Three common dreams are dramatized. The first has the dreamer stuck to a railroad track as he can see an oncoming train not seeing him to stop. This dream can be interpreted as proverbially being chained to something in life and feeling unable to get out of those constraints. The second has the dreamer walking downhill in darkness to arrive at his boss' office, his boss to who he hands a piece of paper which the dreamer is unaware is asking for a raise. This dream can be interpreted as having a sense of inadequacy, in this case about one's job. The third dream has yet to be fully diagnosed but has come directly from the private papers of former President Abraham Lincoln. His dream has him hearing muffled weeping, and investigating discovers a group of mourners standing over his dead body. Regardless of the dream's meaning, it did have an effect on the way he conducted his Presidency and could have been foretelling of his imminent assassination.—Huggo
