Hugh Herbert, homemaker. What can go wrong?

Warning: Spoilers
A very funny war comedy has Herbert's wife (Dorothy Appleby) going to work in a war plant while he stays home and cleans and cooks. Enjoyable topical, very funny with Herbert's attempt at making an upside down cake with instructions from the radio station WOPU, and of course the channel is changed thanks to the cat. Herbert has a great scene with the incomparable Minerva Urecal, trying to get his birth certificate, and there's some openings to jokes that never come. He has a very funny brief encounter with a fuller brush girl (not Lucy!), and later neighbor Frank Sutton, later of "Gomer Pyle". There's also a lady plumber who shows him how to wash dishes in a washing machine. More laughs means a much higher rating for one of the funniest comedy shorts I've seen outside Laurel and Hardy.
