We had joy, we had fun...we slept soundly through this one...

Assuming you remember a certain smash hit of the 70s, Terry Jacks' SEASONS IN THE SUN(a bubble-gummy resurrection of Jaques Brel's terminal illness themed bummer), then your curiosity might be piqued by this obscure film which was apparently inspired by that song, and even stars Mr. Jacks. That said, you'll not be surprised to know that there is, indeed, a terminal illness narrative in play to keep it in-step with the song's subject matter. HOWEVER...I doubt you'd see this expecting........AN ESPIONAGE DRAMA?

I think its safe to say that Terry Jacks will forever be a fixture in one-hit-wonderland for SEASONS IN THE SUN(the song). Well...I can't imagine Mr. Jacks being comparably honored for SEASONS IN THE SUN(the movie). He's pretty wooden...the more seasoned castmembers are adequate enough, some seeming a bit pensive about their participation in this very weak Canuck oddity. I can't say I blame them.

3/10 -- Entirely unnecessary, but blandly watchable. If you're a Terry Jacks fan, you'll at least find the simple novelty of it mildly amusing.
