Mysto-Fox is a rare Fox and Crow cartoon from Columbia that seems to exist in only black-and-white
tavm20 February 2009
Just watched a black-and-white version of this originally Technicolor Columbia/Fox and Crow cartoon on ThadBlog as linked from Daily Motion. In this one, Mysto-Fox puts out a sign in front of the carnival for a rabbit audition. Guess who applies. Seeing the Crow put on rabbit ears and tail and barely fooling the Fox with his disguise is pretty amusing as are some other stuff the Crow pulls on the Fox. But the Fox himself isn't so naive as evidenced by the short's ending. Mysto-Fox was pretty entertaining and hearing the Fox almost use Bugs Bunny's familiar trademark line made me think how Mel Blanc was the original voices of these characters before he signed an exclusive contract with Warner Bros. So with that said, Mysto-Fox is recommend to anyone who's curious about these rare Columbia cartoons.
