There it is. One of the best comedy movies in polish cinema at all (the best of the best, because polish comedy at 30s is the best chapter in the history of polish movies). Eugeniusz Bodo at the role of poor salesman Czermonski who accidently finds himself on the ball at mrs. And mr Porecki. There he is taken for the american councilman Chelmonski, and from that moment he pretends to be him. The film gives us a huge amount of high quality grotesque humour, interesting, but kind of comfort but predictable story (Which is also characteristic for those times cinema). The movie is also a critique of polish aristocracy - they are stupid, credulous and annoying in contrast to simple people like Czermonski which stands for much more intelligent and artful.
