This is a Mister Magoo short released by UPA Studios. There will be spoilers ahead:
Magoo is talked into taking some scouts out on an overnight camp by the grocer, Mr. Peabody, who would rather play cards. He takes the scouts out and there are the typical "Magoo is nearsighted" gags, including Magoo mistaking a bear for MOSS on the side of a tree.
The scouts take off on seeing the bear and Magoo mistakes three bear cubs for the scouts. Strangely enough, Mama Bear disappears at this point, allowing Magoo to camp out with the three cubs, all of which are tame and well-behaved for Magoo.
Peabody, walking home a winner, spots the scouts coming out of a movie theater, hears about the bear and panics. He takes the scouts home and then proceeds to search for Magoo.
After an adventure or two, Magoo comes on Peabody in the brush and turns the "scouts" over to Peabody. Peabody sees bearskins and money. Cue Mama Bear, stage right. Peabody lands in the water and Magoo "catches" his poker winnings, thinking he's caught a salmon. The ending is cute.
The Magoo theatrical shorts and a Magoo feature film are now available in a three-disc DVD box set from Shout! Films. The set is excellent.
