A fine surprise

I luckily happened to catch this film on our local HBO. From the very start of the film, hearing the typically sophisticated-yet-fun piano-played theme, I knew this film was my kind of flick - small, simple, humourous and decent growing-up story that lets you smile a little afterward without being cheesy.

I think it's such a pity this film didn't get the recognition it deserves, for it's a far better one than average indie flicks touted and raved with no apparent reason.

Fantastic. Insightful. A fresh take on an old crisis.

Tom Keenan hits the mark with this insightful look at the transition from childhood freedom to the entanglements of "love" and the real world. A talented cast gets you to thinking whether you should buy that diamond ring or a Harley-Davidson. It hit so close to home that my girlfriend thought it was my way of breaking up with her. Keenan's cameo (ala Hitchcock) suggests that if his career as a movie maker doesn't work out, maybe he should give it a go in front of the cameras.

This movie is hard to find, but worth the effort. Hopefully it will find a wider release.
