A never-seen-before, unashamed masterpiece
peringo227 August 2000
The director himself once commented that many people, after a traumatic view of this so-called film, say, smiling like never before, "this is the worst film I´ve ever seen". And they wold eventually get back to "Los Hijos del Viento" over and over again, with a weird fascination.

Well, this is my case. "Los Hijos del Viento" is a sincere film: Fernando Merinero - the director- gets exactly what he wants from it: he gets laid with the spectacular cuban actress while also introduces his vast collection of underpants to the shocked audience. Not to mention the great moments achieved in the difficult genre of "golden rain" (every character keeps peeing on and on on this bizarre movie). But what´s this film about? A simple story, really: a lawyer (Merienro himself) meets a woman he defended some years ago. An impossible love story arises. What happens during the next two hours is an undecipherable remake of "The Blue angel" and "A Man and a Woman". Or a poetic soap opera. There´s no words to describe this picture: only moments that stick in your mind forever: Merinero f***ing with Mickey Mouse, the love scene in the disco while "Feelings" sounds, the ten-minute farewell spoke by the cuban woman to a video camera... A masterpiece, don´t miss it.
