LONDON -- The BBC will head up its family-friendly Christmas lineup with the second season of its hit drama Doctor Who, in which David Tennant takes over the role of the Time Lord reprised last year by Christopher Eccleston. The BBC1 season opener sees the Doctor and his sidekick Rose Tyler -- played by Billie Piper -- come under attack from a sinister band of masked Santas, while a monstrous super race, the Sycorax, are on a mission to conquer the earth. BBC1 is also bringing new family drama to the network in the form of Simon Nye's new screen version of Gerald Durrell's classic 1930s autobiographical drama My Family and Other Animals.
