“At the end of the day we’re just telling great stories,” says “Shark Tank” director Ken Fuchs. “We bring in these entrepreneurs and change their lives.” Now in its 10th season, the show features ambitious up-and-comers pitching their business ideas to a group of “sharks,” including billionaire Mark Cuban. Fuchs has been with the show since 2010, but he just received his career-first Primetime Emmy nomination this year for directing the series. Watch our exclusive video interview with him above.

A veteran of reality TV (“The Bachelor” and its spin-offs) and game shows (“Family Feud”), Fuchs describes “Shark Tank” as “a hybrid” of the two formats, which he loves “because it brings some of the field reality moments that we get on ‘Bachelor’ and some of the live game show elements that we get on some of my other stage shows.

About a month ago, filmmaker Michael Moore teased that he was working on a “secret project” and name-checked Donald Trump and Roseanne Barr. Tonight on CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the Oscar winner unveiled the title of his movie and offered a few details.
The film will be called Farenheit 11/9, which is, of course, a reference to the 2016 election day that saw Donald Trump elected president in what was widely regarded as an upset, at least in the mainstream media. The film will hit theaters on Sept. 21, according to Moore’s website.
On May 30 — a day after the Twitter barrage that ended up getting Barr’s revived Roseanne canceled by ABC — Moore posted on Facebook, in part: “Roseanne, the viscous slur at me you retweeted yesterday — if I had the time I’d sue you and drain you of every dime you have. But I’ve got a better idea.

It looks like Roseanne Barr’s recent behavior isn’t that out of the ordinary! As it turns out, sources are suggesting that the now 64-year-old actress has always been “a living nightmare” to work with, particularly on the set of The Roseanne Show, her daytime TV talk show. When the original Roseanne ended back in 1997, Michael and Roger King of King World Productions approached Roseanne for a new TV opportunity. However, the mother-of-five had some outlandish demands before jumping on board. "As part of her contract, Roseanne demanded that the King brothers buy her a house in Lake Arrowhead, on top of her $5 million yearly salary," a source who worked behind the scenes on The Roseanne Show told Us Weekly. "The brothers thought this was outrageous, but wanted to keep Roseanne happy, so they agreed." Even after acquiescing to her ridiculous requests, Roseanne continued to prove difficult on set.

To know Roseanne Barr is to know controversy. The outspoken comic has been a firebrand since the moment she stepped on the scene in the late 1980s, and the success of “Roseanne” perhaps only heightened her eccentric approach to the world.
But in recent years, Barr’s behavior has been amplified by social media, and she appears to have been caught under the spell of crazy, irrational conspiracy theories and lies. That’s led to plenty of offensive statements and combative behavior against anyone who challenges her online.
ABC had hoped that Barr was now in check. She was on her best behavior at the Television Critics Association press tour in January, and Disney/ABC TV president Ben Sherwood even felt comfortable enough to tease Barr’s outspokenness a few weeks ago at the network’s upfront presentation. When Barr joked that Sherwood was “the guy responsible for most of my tweets,...

[1] The steady stream of television news continues today with a couple of interesting announcements. After the jump, read about the "near miss" of a television adaptation of Vertigo comic book series Dmz, Rosanne Barr's return to sitcom television, and a fifth-season renewal for True Blood. Earlier this week, comic book writer Brian Wood wrote on his blog [2] about the scrapping of a television adaptation of his Vertigo comic series Dmz. We also had a near miss with setting Dmz up as a television show, at a verrrry respectable network, and its a bit crushing. I had hoped the whole new “DC Entertainment” meant they’d be better about this sort of thing… and this deal seemed like a gift from heaven… but apparently not. While it's possible that Wood will be able to put together another deal for a live-action adaptation at some point in the future, it seems...
