How I was delighted by salle n° 8

I saw this serial when in eighth form (troisième in France). It was during school year 1966 / 1967. I was a grammar school pupil in Paris (lycée François Villon). The serial takes place in a Parisian hospital that is ruled by a medicine professor whose name I forgot (played by Henri Guisol) and a woman supervisor nurse very ugly, tough and disciplinarian. She is narrow minded people and she get an obsession short skirts ans long hair. So when a young female doctor or nurse comes to the hospital with long hair she wants her to cut it or tighten it. She also can't bear smocks or skirts too short and wants all the hospital's women and girls to length their smocks and skirts. She wants her son to get very short hair till the other pupils of his school nickname him " Monseigneur " because his hair cut is like a clergyman one's. When in grammar school we were submitted to similar rules, the grammar school headmistress wanted us to get short hair (my father and mother too) , a blue smock (pink for the girls), no bluejeans but a suit. It took place during the Gaullist era where long hair and short skirts were deprivations. It could be interesting for whom would study day life during the Gaullist rule.
