With the classic Martine Beswick movie "Dr. Jekyll & Sister Hyde" available as a model from the 1970s, this cheapjack Ashlyn Gere vehicle fails to measure up, either as sex film or comedy.
Michael Craig's video doesn't even provide Jekyll figure Mike Horner as Dr. Douglas Maxner with a lab, just chintzy props as he experiments on himself with a test tube full of his formula. It's rom-com time from there as Ashlyn Gere takes over, a busty babe whose body Horner inhabits and has sex with Randy West for starters.
Though Gere has fun with the role and certainly is sexy for her fans, the resulting farcical situations are bland and unfunny. Ultimately she needs to add sperm to the formula in order to change back into Horner, leading to her seducing Peter North, who the audience knows is quite reliable at delivering a heavy load, which she captures in a coffee cup.
Happy ending of Horner reuniting with his girlfriend played by Champagne has little impact, especially in a movie that is ostensibly a Gere vehicle. Champagne does get two sex scenes, the other being a lesbian tryst with Celia Young, while Madison is quite impressive as the doctor's assistant who does a bit of sexual role reversal with Horner after she catches him dressed in lingerie (a result of a temporary reversion to self after being in Gere's body).
