The title does let you know what you are in for.....

Like his earlier short "Sex and Violence", this Bill Plympton short is NOT just about sex and violence but is a series of unrelated but very sick and mostly funny shorts. Some are pretty risqué and sick--so I would not show them to your mother (especially the last two). But, if you don't mind watching them all alone (that way others don't realize what a sick puppy you are), then they are well worth your time.

I should note that a few years ago, I met Bill Plympton and bought some DVDs from him at a convention. When I asked about buying "Bill's Dirty Shorts" (of which "Sex and Violence" is a part of) he STRONGLY recommended I not because I told him my 16 year-old loved his work. So, instead I got a few other DVDs and, inexplicably, he seemed so normal and nice--not the sort to make a raunchy (but hilarious) film collection like this one!

More Sex and Violence (1998)

*** (out of 4)

Sequel to SEX AND VIOLENCE has animator Plympton giving us even more vignettes. This time out we get to see violence ranging from car wrecks to the truth behind why Elvis died. We also see countless sex stuff including a hilarious bit of dyslexic sex, airbag sex and a priceless gag of a date seen from the point of view of a woman's mouth. Needless to say, Plympton makes this stuff extremely dirty and while the majority of the jokes aren't as funny as they were in the first film, there are a couple classics here that make this a must see. The entire gag of the date is priceless because you know where it's going yet each time she opens her mouth you can't help but build up the joke and when it finally does arrive it still makes you laugh because of the pay off. The humor is certainly very dirty so this is adult material all the way but if you've got a good, dark sense of humor then just sit back and enjoy.
