When the series was rebroadcast in the US in 1994, it was re-titled "Stop the Smoggies".
A note on the title screen reads "Approved by The Greenhouse Crisis Foundation".
The character Emma is depicted as suffering from Gerascophobia, an irrational fear of growing older. In real life, people with this phobia variously fear the perceived effects of the aging process, including the loss of physical youth and beauty, the loss of independence and mobility, the onset of sickness, and the decline of physical and mental health.
